How to Choose Racing Apparel That Fits

Blue Ridge Print Shop ·

Race-day comfort starts with the right fit. A size label is a useful starting point, but garment measurements give you a better comparison—especially when choosing between a women's tee, a classic unisex shirt, and a hoodie.

Start with something you already wear

Lay a similar garment flat without stretching it. Measure the chest from side to side just below the armholes, then measure length from the shoulder area to the hem. Compare those numbers with the product's supplied size guide.

Half chest or flat width is one side of the garment. Chest circumference is approximately twice that number. A body-measurement chart is a different kind of guide, so always check the chart labels.

Choose the style for your plans

A classic, relaxed tee gives a different silhouette from a semi-fitted women's tee. A hoodie needs room for the shirt underneath; a shell jacket may need room for another layer. Check the materials and construction details on each product page rather than assuming every design uses the same blank garment.

Headwear needs its own fit check

A fitted Flexfit cap has size options, while an adjustable snapback uses a closure to change the fit. Beanies have a flexible fit. Ask us about a specific style if you need more detail before purchasing.

Plan before production

Made-to-order products are created for each purchase, and routine returns for a size change are not supported. A quick measurement now can save frustration later.

Use our Sizing & Care Guide and the chart on your product page. Contact the shop with the product and your measurements if you need help.
